Wyndham looks beyond Thailand’s big cities with latest resort
Wyndham Hotels and Resorts has appointed Wyndham Destinations to manage a beachfront resort on the Thai Riviera that will become the first Wyndham-branded property in Thailand outside of Bangkok and Phuket
The 194-key Blue Lotus Hua Hin, also known as Evason Hua Hin under Six Senses, will be rebranded as Wyndham Hua Hin Pranburi Resort and Villas.
The resort is located on a 20-acre former coconut plantation and is surrounded by national parks.
“The opening of Wyndham Hua Hin Pranburi Resort & Villas signals the long-term potential we can develop in Thailand’s beach towns,” said Joon Aun Ooi, president of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts Asia Pacific.
“As travel demand continues to rebound strongly in the region, this reinforces our commitment to bringing our globally recognized brands to our customers in Asia Pacific. We are excited about our partnership with Wyndham Destinations because of their proven track record of running day-to-day operations and delivering the excellent guest services for which the Wyndham brand is renowned.
The property’s accommodation offering ranges from studios and family suites with expansive private terraces to 90-110 m² villas with a private pool, sun loungers and a large daybed in a private walled garden.
Located in Pranburi, with expansive gardens to explore on the grounds, Wyndham Hua Hin offers a wide range of recreational facilities, including four tennis courts; four courts for North American hobby pickleball, a skate park, an archery range, beach volleyball courts; fitness room, children’s club and meeting rooms, as well as a 1,250 m² lagoon swimming pool with a 47-metre swimming lane.
It is also home to Asia’s leading plant-based cooking school, which will reopen when COVID-19 restrictions are eased.
“We are proud to have built a portfolio of resorts that includes some of the finest vacation destinations in the Asia-Pacific region and this Pranburi destination represents another incredible addition,” said Barry Robinson, President and CEO of international operations of Wyndham Destinations.
“This is an exciting opportunity to expand our management operations outside of the well-known tourist hubs of Bangkok and Phuket. The resort has excellent reviews online, including a 9.1 rating on Agoda.com, and we look forward to seeing what we can do to improve the customer experience even further.
Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific is the preferred management partner of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts in Thailand and currently oversees the management of over 70 hotels and resorts in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan and Europe.
